Ⅰ、 Selection of electro vacuum thermoform mould
The vacuum thermoform mould is generally divided into gesso mould, copper mould and aluminum mould:
Gesso mould: Carved and formed under the semi-humid state, then dried into the mould. The gesso mould has low cost and is easy to modify, however, the precision of the gesso mould is low, the surface is unsmooth, fragile and not durable, therefore, it is often used to draft, make electro copper mould or used as the vacuum thermoform mould of short run production with low requirement.
Aluminum mould: Made of aluminum ingot through machine work (lathe, milling machine, CNC etc.). The aluminum has high precision, the surface is smooth and durable, however, the cost is very high, and the aluminum mould is generally used in the vacuum thermoform product with high precision requirement that the copper mould cannot reach.
Electro copper mould: The electro copper mould is made by electroplating a layer of copper coating on the sample product made of gesso mould. The cost is higher than the gesso mould but much lower than the aluminum mould, its smooth and durable surface and low cost make electro copper mould become the commonest vacuum thermoform mould.
II、Selection of vacuum thermoform material
The raw material of vacuum thermoform product is only the plastic sheet, the thickness is generally not over 1.5mm, the common sheet materials include: PVC, PET, PP, PS and the flocking sheet, plated sheet and anti-static sheet, conductive sheet.
PVC：The commonest vacuum thermoform material, with soft texture, strong tenacity and good plasticity, can be made into transparent and various colors, the transparent PVC is often used to package the electronic, cosmetic, toy gift etc.
PET（A-PET）：Hard texture, good tenacity, high strength, smooth surface, pollution-free and nontoxic, transparent and multi-color sheet. The disadvantage is that the high-frequency heat seal of PET is hard, the cost is much more expensive than PVC, therefore, this material is often used to replace PVC by the users that require top grade and environmental product.
PS：Small density (light), environmental and nontoxic, excellent plasticity, poor tenacity, fragile, cannot be made into transparent material, therefore, it can only be made into the base support type and is improper to recover.
PP：Soft texture, good tenacity, environmental and nontoxic, high temperature resistant, often made into dishware or the packaging of other high temperature resistant product; however it has poor plasticity, hard processing, poor surface sheen, and the color will be faded in the processing.
PET-G：The physical property is similar to A-PET, however, it allows high frequency heat seal, and the price is 80% higher than A-PET.
